One thing that you need to keep in mind when searching for a job is that it is hard work. It requires research and a good amount of planning in order to develop an effective strategy to find that perfect job. Before you can begin your search you need to think about what type of job would interest you the most. It would be helpful to make a list of keywords to use in your job search as well.

You want to make sure that you stand out. Try and make your resume as unique as possible while still keeping it professional. You have to keep in mind that the person looking at your resume probably has about a hundred others that were given to them along with yours. Keep it simple and to the point.

One of the most effective was to start your job search would be to use the internet. There are tons of different search engines out there that one would be able to use to find a job. Here are a few examples:

When you begin your search the internet make sure you have your keywords handy and that you know what type of job it is that you're looking for. It is also a good idea to post your resume on some of these sites as well.

Newspapers are another effective way to search for a job. Although it may seem like there are a lot of job postings listed in the newspaper, keep in mind a lot of companies do not post job listings because they do not want to receive hundreds or thousands of applications. When reading a post in the paper keep notes on how to contact the company as well as who to contact. Also if the company name is given in the ad it would be a good idea to do some research to make sure it's the type of company you would like to work for. One thing that has helped me in my job search is to read the weekly publication of the JobsTu. It had helpful information on different ways to approach a job interview as well as many other helpful tips and strategies.

One of my personal obstacles that is hard to overcome for me when searching for a job is that I have a felony on my record. It is required by law that if an application asks about the felony or even if I go for an interview and they ask I must tell them. One way that I can get around it is to put on the application that I would be willing to talk about it when being interviewed if needed. I will have
