Coastal Features Of Point Lobos

All around the world there are coastal features that are very interesting to many people for many reasons, and I wanted to choose one that was in my own country. Then there were a lot of options to choose from just in my own country, so I looked for a particular spot that had a lot of different features in one place. I came across a location in California that had more than one feature in one place; it is called Point Lobos, California. It is just west of Pebble Beach in central California.
The landscape here consist of bold headlands, irregular coves and vast rolling meadows that have been brought together over the past millions of years by a combination of the land and sea. Rocks formed underneath the earth's surface and then were forced up through the surface to be formed by a combination of harsh waves and weather into many different forms. Some of the rocks were even molten rock that made it to the surface and then allowed to cool very slowly to form the cliffs we can see now.
As you walk around the rocks surface you will see mostly two different kinds of rock in this particular area, volcanic and sedimentary. The first is Santa Lucia Granite, and the next is called Carmelo formation. Carmelo formation is a hard granite-like rock covered by deposits of gravel and sand that eventually hardened and formed this type of sandstone.
On the shoreline where the waves have been crashing against the granite over millions of years we have many interesting rock formations. The waves work their way between small cracks in the granite and begin to erode away the rock. Today there are many caverns and natural
