In the world of Engineering and Technology, each day sees a spate of new concepts and applications, and each passing day seems to make them obsolete. This galloping pace of technological evolution has a direct bearing on practical applications, making it mandatory for today's engineers to keep abreast of the latest developments. I have always had an inherent and overwhelming desire to design and innovate and this propelled me to opt for a career in engineering.
In Computers, the tremendous scope for research, whose application potential could provide tremendous productivity gains, has always fascinated me. As a student in the final year of undergraduate study for a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science & Engineering, I look to graduate studies to refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest.
My strong academic record provides the foundation for the work I hope to do. During my schooling, I enrolled at the Center for training in Computers for a Diploma in Computer Applications to pick up the rudiments of computer programming. I completed the 5-year course with a distinction. I excelled in Mathematics (91%) in the 10th grade Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam. I also obtained 96% in Math and 95% in Computers in the ISC (High School) conducted in 2000. For this, I received the Certificate of Merit and a 4-year scholarship for under-graduation from Hyderabad Archdiocese Social Service Society for excellent performance in Class XII, which I used, to set up a scholarship fund for students in need.
My academic experiences confirmed that my future lay in Engineering. However, I wanted to determine how my aptitude might mesh with a potential career in my chosen field of Computers. So I enrolled in a six-month Diploma Course in Java Pro (Core Java and Advanced Java) at Comp-u-learn, a branch of an American Institute, before my under-graduation, and did well enough to further fuel my interest in Computer Science. During this time I also taught HTML and Core Java at Comp-u-learn. This experience proved to be both rewarding and enriching, as I was able to interact and learn more about the intricacies of Web Designing from sessions with the faculty and the students. Consequently I firmly decided on Computer Engineering as my future career. With this mission foremost in mind and encouraged by my parents, I opted to pursue undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Engineering at Muffakham Jah College Of Engineering & Technology (MJCET), which is affiliated to the prestigious Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
At MJCET, I have been exposed to a stimulating engineering environment. I have worked extensively in the UNIX and WINDOWS environment and am well versed in programming in C, C++, VC++, VB6.0, COBOL and JAVA and in using Databases and CASE tools such as Rational Enterprise Edition, Rational Rose and Turbo Analyst. I have also dealt thoroughly with 8085 and 8086 microprocessor assembly language programming. These studies reinforced my passion for the dynamic field of Computers.
I have consistently stood among the top three in my class of 90 students and have an overall percentage of 77%. During my undergraduate study I had participated in major technical meets, seminars and presentations that sharpened my communication and teaching skills. I was awarded the first prize in the Game Designing Contest at a National Level Symposium - ADSOPHOS, held in 2003. I also won the first prize in a State Level Symposium - TACHYON 2K2, held in 2002 in the Programming in C contest. I hold a key position in the student branch of ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) and have organized various technical seminars in our college campus.
Despite a rigorous academic schedule, I have worked part time as a software programmer for a period of 6 months with a UK based company, Eksper Technologies, and have acquired invaluable practical experience in Databases and Web Designing. During this time, I was part of a project team, which was involved in a Euro Calling Cards project www.eurocallingcards.com and a land rental project. Presently, I am doing research in media streaming with the same company. In 2002, I worked part time as a web programmer for Eniac Software Private Ltd, for a period of 4 months.
I was the project leader in my 3rd year, in a CASE tools lab project - RMA systems. As part of the curriculum, I was taught the implementation of Distributed systems and networks. In my senior year project, I implemented a Finger Print Recognition algorithm, using MATLAB.
I am passionate to pursue courses and research in
