Controlling
The base word of controlling is control. The definition of control is making something happen the way it was planned to happen. While, the definition of controlling is a process to ensure that actual activities confirm to planned activities or a process of monitoring performance and taking action to ensure desired results. Next, organizational control is a systematic process through which managers regulate organizational activities to make them consistent with the expectations established in plans, and to help them achieve all pre-determined standards of performance.
The types of control that used by F&N are Pre-Action Control ( Feed-forward Control / Preliminary Control ) , Steering Control ( Concurrent Control ) , Screening Control ( Yes or No Control ) and Post-Action Control ( Corrective Control ) .
Pre-Action Control is a control that focuses on preventing anticipated problem before they arise. For example, before a new product is launched, marketers conduct market testing on that product. Firstly, Proton Holdings Berhad use pre-action control to make sure their car have quality and always sold well. Proton always survey the types and models in high ranked and as what buyers like it. For example, if the car engine have a bit fault in wire ring and make the car broken, proton would not accept the car to be in their showroom because for them, quality is important.
Besides that, steering Control is a control that take place while work activity is in progress. For example, Proton Holding Berhad use the steering control after launching a new product, such as Proton Iriz, the marketers will monitor competitors, such as Perodua, customers and dealers reaction and take corrective actions if required.
