Hello! Many of you may have been on roller coasters hundreds of times. Until last summer, I never even thought about going on one.
A very special person named Billy, who is my boyfriend, convinced me to go to Great Adventures with him. I was very scared and nervous about it. The first ride that he wanted to go on was the kingda ka ,which is a new roller coaster that was supposed to go higher and faster then the other rides in the park. I thought it would be wiser to start off with something a little slower but he didn't let me.
While waiting in line and about to be the next group to the board the ride, the current group on the ride did not make it all the way up the steep coaster. The cart ended up going backwards instead of going over the hill. This clearly did not seem like a good idea any more but my boyfriend and his friends told me that knowing this only made the ride more exciting.
I boarded the cart and got buckled in, my boyfriend held my hand and before I could speak we were off...slow to start. Then it rocked slightly backward and went straight forward, faster then I could have ever expected. I didn't scream or close my eyes, surprisingly.
The ride was great and I was determined to ride as many as I could that night. We stood in the amusement park until it closed. We had lots of junk food and spent lots of money on little things. Billy didn't have as much fun as me because he couldn't win a game to get me a stuffed animal like all of our friends did. I told him that there was always going to be next time.
After that day, Billy and I went to get season passes. We went back around 5 or 6 times last summer. I am looking forward to going this summer because it has become a place that I love going!
