Abstract
Millions of years ago, long before there were any people, there were dinosaurs. Dinosaurs were one of several kinds of pre-historic retiles that has impacted and dominated the earth. For about 65 millions years ago, dinosaurs mysteriously went extinct. There are a lot of theories why the extinction occurred. The most widely accepted theory is that an asteroid impacted earth which caused major climatic changes. "Scientist hypothesis believed that most serious damage was done by the impacts disruption of the most important chemical reaction on earth Photosynthesis."
How Photosynthesis Impacted Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs evolved soon after the Permian extinction, which was the biggest mass extinction that ever occurred on Earth. Dinosaurs evolved from other reptiles like the socket-toothed Archosaurs. This was during the Triassic period, over 230 million years ago. During the Triassic period, the mammals also evolved. The first dinosaurs were small and lightly built, mostly about 10-15 feet long (3 to 4.5 m). They were bipedal carnivores or omnivores, and probably very agile and fast. (Enchanted learning, 2006).
Since the beginning of time, dinosaurs have gripped people's imaginations like no other creature of the past. Dinosaurs have been the subject of countless studies, movies, books, exhibitions and toys. Dinosaurs made a big impact on this planet called earth, they're reign on earth lasted over one hundred million years. They dominated the planet when they existed; they were huge prehistoric animals that weighed tons of pounds. Dinosaurs are a big part of the world's culture today, because they have been featured in many movies for example, a movie called Dinosaurs, which is a Walt Disney movie that was released on May 19, 2000. Jurassic Park is another movie it was directed by Steven Spielberg and it was released in June of 1993. Both movies are great to watch and are collectables.
Students lives are impacted with the study dinosaurs in school from they are a very young age. As children become older and turn into adults, they learn about different types of dinosaurs; when they became instinct, and more. Dinosaurs are a big impact in the world. Though dinosaurs impacted this earth millions of years ago, the explanation of how dinosaurs were eliminated is still a mystery. Dinosaurs became extinct about 65 million years ago. A number of explanations have been suggested to explain their disappearance including food shortage or dramatic change in climate. At that time, nearly half of the world's animals and plants species became extinct. Many scientists believed that dinosaurs were eliminated due to asteroids or comets that impacted the earth and caused a massive heat wave; resulting in the death of plants. Dinosaurs' main food intake was from plants, so when the asteroids or comets destroyed the main food supply dinosaurs began to deteriorate. Dinosaurs also could not cope with massive heat wave that impacted the earth. The sky was so hot; it was broiling on the earth's surface. Dinosaurs and pterosaurs were eliminated because they were too big to hide from the heat in the sky.
The extinction of the dinosaurs has become a never-ending discussion among people. Scientists have fought for many years about the reasons and theories on how the dinosaurs disappeared. Some scientists have said because of the heat there was no energy for the dinosaurs to survive. Like all animals, dinosaurs needed energy to survive and they did not have any energy to eat, function, or live.
