New Dinosaur Species Found

February 29th,2007[pic 1]

The Dino program on the Animal Discovery Channel ran a segment on the discovery of a new species of Dinosaurs. A research team consisting of paleontologists from University of Boston traveled to southern Africa last year and found numerous fossils that belonged to extinct Dinosaurs. Paleontologists noticed that only some of these fossils resembled previously discovered dinosaurs indicating that the rest of the fossils found were unique and may belong to a new dinosaur species.

At first the team of paleontologists believed that maybe these fossils belonged to the Danieasauras or to the family of Afrovenators but when examined, none of the fossils found had resembled any previous documented dinosaurs. Fortunately, one of the fossils found was the main part of the Brody which helped the paleontologists identify that these fossils were not of a dinosaur that had been previously discovered. These fossils were mediocre in size and some had greenish spots covering them that might have been fungi or bacteria.

The program covered an exclusive interview with the lead paleontologist who said, “We were delighted to discover that these fossil belong to a new dinosaur species and will continue to look for fossils that may belong to this specie of dinosaurs.” We sent one of the fossils to a lab so that the greenish spots can be examined and tested. According to the results, the green spots is a bacteria called Streptococcus pyogenes and lab technicians claim it is possible that they can use these bacteria to fight tumours which can aid in the cure of cancers.” The team of paleontologists are yet to decide on the name for the dinosaur but hinted that they may display a model of this dinosaur in the “American Museum of Natural History” once they successfully collect all the fossils belonging to the dinosaur.
