Introduction – Dutch Lady Malaysia
In 1960’s, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad established as a manufacturer of sweetened condensed milk in Petaling Jaya. The name of Dutch Lady Malaysia had changed in 1984 for positioning reason, where it previously called as Pacific Milk Industries (Malaya) Sdn Bhd and changed to Dutch Baby Industries (Malaya) Berhad in 1975. Dutch Lady Malaysia was previously under Royal Friesland Foods which is a Netherlands-based company founded by Dutch farmers families in 1871. There are more than 19,000 member farmers in Netherlands, Germany and Belgium until today. Now, Dutch Lady Malaysia had becomes a subsidiary company of Friesland Campina after a merger between Royal Friesland Food and Campina in 2008.
Dutch Lady Malaysia is a Malaysia-based diary company which specialize in production of dairy products and fruit juices. Before this, the company was started its business with single production which is sweetened condensed milk in 1960’s. But now, it has expanded to a variety range of diary product such as growing up milk, powdered milk, Ultra-High Temperature (UHT) processed milk, yogurt drinks and fruit juices. For your information, Dutch Lady Malaysia is the first company who used the UHT to process milk in Malaysia. Moreover, it is also the first company in the world to produce formulated milk powder for children in 1988. Besides that, the company has built various brands name in the market, for instance, Frisolac, Friso, Dutch Lady Purefarm, Dutch Lady Low Fat Yoghurt and Dutch Lady 0% Fat Yoghurt Drink and so on.
Last but not least, Dutch Lady Malaysia had won the first of nine Reader’s Digest Superbrands Gold Award in 1999 for the Preferred Brand of Milk Products in Malaysia. Besides that, Wold Milk Day (WMD) was first introduced by Dutch Lady Malaysia in 2007 and it received Malaysia Book of Records for the Largest Milk Drinking event. Moreover, the company had become one of the milk distributors in Programe Susu Sekolah 1Malaysia (PS1M), which is the national school milk programme. Other than that, the company rewarded National Safety Award in 2013, Putra Brand Award 2014 and many more.
