The Employee Survey Database
Dear Mr. Edwards,
I reviewed the results of the survey that was conducted on the population of the American Intellectual Union (AIU) and am now passing them on to you. I feel that it is important that you use these results in analyzing the level of job satisfaction based on the different variables that were included in the survey.
We are using the results from the survey to determine whether changes need to be made in certain areas in order to ensure that there is job satisfaction amongst our employees. These areas include the following: Determining the need for an extra shift in order to accommodate the needs of the employees. We are also evaluating whether there is a need for wage increases for certain departments. We are also evaluating whether the work environment is conducive to a productive staff.
We feel that statistics are very important and the information that is derived from statistic are vital to the success of an organization. This information gives another point of view than our own. The employees serve as the eyes and ears for our organization. The information that they contribute from the inside helps us determine whether changes need to be made. The employees can sometimes notice problems before they would normally be brought to our attention and their insight would help us address them faster. Finally the most important thing that the statistics derived from the employee surveys help us to determine if the employees are satisfied. Satisfied, happy employees are going to be more important and will take pride in the success of the organization as a whole.
Below are some conclusions that we have derived from the information provided in the survey.
1.What is the distribution of individuals by gender?
The distribution of individuals by gender is as follows: 38% males (19/50) and 62% females (31/50).
2.What is he "tenure with company" distribution by gender?
The "tenure with company" distribution by gender is as follows:
6/19 or 31.6% of the male employees have been with the company for less than 2 years
11/19 or 57.9% of the male employees have been with the company from 2 to 5 years
2/19 or 10.5% of the male employees have been with the company for over 5 years
18/31 or 58.06% of the female employees have been with the company for less than 2 years
13/31 or 41.93% of the female employees have been with the company from 2 to 5 years
0/31 or 0% of the female employees have been with the corporation for over 5 years.
3. What percentage of the survey participants are in each department?
16/50 or 32% of the survey participants are in the Human Resources Department. 33/50 or 66% of the survey participants are in the Information Technology Department. 1/50 or 2% of the participants are in Administration.
4. What is the sample mean for extrinsic value by gender?
