College

I am in college to get a social/crime psychology degree, to also get a stable job and to be able to support my future family. In this essay I will be telling you how I will benefit in college and why I am in college. I will be talking about my path from my senior year in high school to college how psychology became my major, my goals such as, immediate and long term dreams I want to accomplish, and finally how college will help me achieve those goals. The reason why I am in college is for these specific reasons.

My reason to attend college all started in high school. Where high school was tough, you did not know what you wanted to do or who you wanted to be. It was a place where you continually grow; it’s like a small seed blooming into a blossom. My path started in high school in my senior year, I went to my child development class and one day a social psychology doctor comes and speaks to our class, about his job and how it all started. He chose his job because of child development, how he loved studying about people’s behaviors and their emotions. My major was decided right there when the doctor talked about his job, my passion about social psychology clicked that’s when I knew my path to college has been opened.

When my path was set to college I had to decide where I wanted to go. Unfortunately, my family was not well off, we were very poor. Due to that I had to make a decision to go to Miramar community college to save money and to support my family in their financial crisis. I went to Miramar College and went in for my appointment with a counselor and first thing he asked before we talked was “what was my goals? “ I started to think and, I told him I wanted to first transfer to San Diego State University and graduate from there with a psychology degree, find a stable job, and finally support my family and future family while doing that praising the Lord.  The goals I have set for my path in college will be met, and it will start a new chapter in life.

The path I am taking into college will impact me, throughout these college courses I will be taking in Miramar Community College. I think college will help me through responsibility, and time management. The reason why I say responsibility was due to the, courses you take in college like turning in assignments, waking up early for classes, or staying up for a mid term. Next reason would be time management, where each courses, studies, and jobs all consume up your time. By managing your time wisely you will be able to use it in life and step-by-step checking it off the to do list, and saving time instead of wasting it. And, finally throughout college courses, homework’s, or even a part time jobs at school, it will help you in the long run, benefiting your future. All these reasons responsibility, time management they all benefit you in your future and your goals. The classes you take will not be wasted but it will benefit you in your goals and future.
