Platinum Spoon
The Campbell`s were just an average family from San Diego, CA. One day Mrs. Campbell was gardening when she found a platinum spoon. For some reason, it was stuck in the ground and no matter how hard she tried she could not get it out, so she left it there. Later on that day, one of her sons Chuck came outside and found that exact spoon. He however could pick it up with ease and put it in his pocket with the rest of cool things he always found.
That evening, Chuck and his family were sitting at the dinner table and he, and he only, kept hearing sounds coming from under the kitchen sink. He ignored it. Later on that night at bedtime he showed his brother, Henry, the platinum spoon. When Henry went to touch it he turned into a can of Chicken and Stars soup with the name Campbell`s on the top of the can. Instantly after, a light shown underneath their bedroom door. Chuck grabbed the can and went to investigate the strange light. He thought the light would be his mother from the kitchen but he was wrong.
From the same cabinet that Chuck was hearing noises from, the light was shining through it. Out of curiosity, he opened the cabinet and realized it wasn’t a normal cabinet like the rest. It looked like a long tunnel with bright lights at the end. Something in his gut was telling him he needed to go through it. When he reached the end, he heard a loud voice said, “To get your brother back, you must reach the top of Mount. Roni and place the spoon in the drawer.” Worried for his brother’s life he knew he had no choice.
Looking around the landscape, he noticed a mountain about half a mile in front of him, with a faded old path leading all the way up the mountain. While walking on the path, he came upon a broken bridge. The only way to get across was through the tomato sauce. It was too thick to swim across but too thin to walk on. The only way over was to jump across noodles in the shape of the alphabet. After leaping from letter to letter he continued down the path.
Finally, he reached the base of the mountain which contained Lake Alfredo. Lake Alfredo wasn’t your average lake with fish but instead it had noodle snakes. To get back on the trail he had to use a spaghetti o` raft to row across. Half way through the journey the noodle snakes started to attack Chuck. Out of nowhere one of the snakes leaped into his raft, nearly knocking him and the soup can overboard. The snake started biting him and well as kids are, Chuck started biting it back and realized that the noodle snakes really did taste like yummy noodles. Once the snake saw that Chuck wasn’t scared and that’s it`s life is endangered, the snake sprung out of the raft and back into the lake; long enough for Chuck and the can containing his brother to get across to the path again[a].
Now that another mission was accomplished he had no idea what was possibly left to face. Chuck had shockingly conquered over half the mountain already until he stepped on something squishy. He looked down to see giant ravioli about the size of an elephant. He thought it was unusual but so was this new world he was in. More and more of these ravioli were laying down, suddenly, Splash! Squish! Flop! All of the ravioli stood up on beef legs and chased Chuck. Well as any 10 year old would do, he ran his little heart out still holding his brother. He found a small cave and hid inside while the ravioli were fighting to get a bite of him. Just when all hope was just about lost, a giant bowl came rolling down the mountain and smashed all the ravioli creatures.
