It must have been about four years ago that my family and I went on a cruse to
Alaska. At first I was not too excited to be going some where cold in the middle of the
summer. At the time I really did not know a lot about Alaska, what we would do there, or
the local menu. I stayed optimistic and knew I would have a good time with my family no
matter what.
The first leg of the trip was a really long trip on a plane to some where in Canada,
then a bus ride to the port where we would be leaving from. The boat was huge, just the
size of it was impressive, it was really a floating city. The first few days we were just
making our way to the first stop. When we finally got there it felt like a different country,
it was so beautiful, a complete contrast from living on Long Island, nature at its finest.
While walking through the town I saw wild salmon swimming free in the local streams,
everything just seemed so peaceful and natural, I loved it. The people there were some of
the nicest I have ever met.
At one of the first stops my family decided to take a kayaking trip together on the
bay to see the local wild life. It was amazing, for the first time in my life I saw a wild bald
