with Examples

Justify the Value’s Position in the List. Include any challenges to employing these values consistently when making personal and organizational decisions.

Attention to Detail We have 40,000 real customers whose rate increased because of some tweak in tables in our database. No one noticed until it went live and customers calling with questions. The customers were very angry and this obviously would affect our business as our main motto is to make customers happy and tend to their needs. I placed Attention to Detail at top of the list because I feel in all situations, if things are looked into detail then there would be no major errors. My most important value is to pay attention to detail so nothing would be unturned or left unnoticed. This also would be very helpful to fix in initial stages.

Customer Satisfaction We bought big screen TV few months back in COSTCO. The picture tube broke and we didn’t know what to do as replacing tube itself would cost us heftily. My husband called COSTCO and they told us to bring it to the store. We never imagined they would take it back but was expecting to repair it and give our TV back to us with a bill. To our surprise, they not only took the TV but also gave us full refund with no questions asked. We were so impressed by their service that we instantly brought another TV. We were so impressed with then service that we decided to always shop in COSTCO. I want to adopt the same rule in my business too because I feel what ever we do, bottom line is making customers happy. If they are happy, they tend to come again and again to us and that is also a good way of advertisement. Seeing our customer’s happy, makes the day too.

Market Study/Research This is a very broad area and it would help to be more specific for example learning more, being an expert in a subject area would be more specific for this area. Market study is very important aspect as I have seen my uncle close his business as he ran into losses. He did not do enough research before starting his business. He bought goods that are of low price for a very high price since he was unaware of the surroundings. Had he done enough research, he wouldn’t have faced that situation Before I venture out, I want to do an in-depth research analysis and how the products/services would be useful to others. How much capital I would be investing, what are the risk factors with it and at the end, how my profits would be.

Hard work/Honest I always believed, a person can reach any heights by doing hard work and being honest. I will be implementing this value in my business as I have seen my dad, my husband and many other people around me taste success just by following these two concepts. My cousin, who doesn’t even have an under grad degree, came to U.S.A, worked day in and day out in all the places he could just to meet the ends and since he was very hard working, sincere and honest, people loved him
