I really miss my old advisor, SHANEL DURAM! She really was very tentative to my needs and she communicated well. I never had to worry about if taking the right class or she will contact me to make sure I felt comfortable in the classes that I am taking. After she left, I have received the WORST service EVER! Currently, I do not have an advisor that is concerned about my development as a student, neither does the director of the Academic Advisement department. When Shanel left, I received an email from Erika Hilliard on January 7, 2006 that Genia Reynolds-Nooks will be filling in until another advisor is fully trained. One day I sent her an email about my schedule and I needed her to email me back. It took her forever to respond. I had to send two messages for her and Erika Hilliard for Genia to respond to my email. I really do not appreciate how the communication level between your academic advisors and the students is up to standard, especially when tuition is very costly. I have requested several times to have an advisor reassigned to me. I sent this request to Erika, I was ignored. I sent another email to Genia about my current schedule, I did not have a schedule built after my History class. I received a message that she was going to be out of the office until Thursday or Friday and if anyone needed immediate assistance, contact Erika. Well I forwarded the email to Erika and CC myself and Genia. Guess what, Erika did not respond at all. I sent another email (my third email) to Genia and Erika about my schedule and if another representative has been assigned to me. I finally received an email back stating that my schedule has been built and it will be available for viewing in the evening from Erika. She never answered my other question about reassigning me an academic advisor. I GOT IGNORED AGAIN! First, I think that I should have the opportunity to choose what classes I want to take outside of my core and Gen. No one asked me what I wanted
