Games And Violence

Video games and violence have been an ongoing conflict in the past. Some people believe if you play violent video games it could reflect into your present lifestyle. Others believe that it is just bad parenting. Which ever of these two you believe to be true is your decision. Will a video game make you kill somebody or is this just a copout excuse to blame someone else for the actions you committed? These are the facts; I have been playing violent video games ever since I can remember as a young child. The games ranged from Ninja Turtles to Mortal Kombat. These games are very graphic in the ways of blood, decapitation, explosives, etc. I would never in my mind even think of killing a person because my parents have raised me to believe that is against God's will. This problem with society today is not the games they play, but the way they are raised. These games have been violent from the beginning, video games do not cause violence, and the kids need counseling.
Video games have been violent from the beginning of the existence of any gaming system. "I would argue that almost all video games have been violent to start with. After all, in the original Space Invaders, did you greet the incoming aliens with cookies and milk? No, you were blowing them away with a laser, hoping you did not get canned first," (www.theroc.org). With that having been said, why now is this issue being brought up just within the past decade or two? If it is supposedly causing such a big problem, why was this issue not stopped years ago?
Video games do not cause violence; this is a rumor or myth made by people looking for an excuse or a solution to why things happen. When they are searching in the wrong area; people can blame it on the games. But how do these nine to eleven year old kids acquire these video games when they are not even old enough to buy them without parents consent? Ask yourself this question and see if you find a reasonable answer? Even if the parents are unaware of the violence in the video game they just bought their son or daughter for a special reason or holiday. They can play the games
