1. Other types of product planning that MLS can do in order to promote soccer could be; they could get sponsors like Pepsi or Coke to host free games where people that are interested could go and see if they would enjoy a soccer games. They could also have "meet and greets" with teams where fans could talk to the player and get autographs. They could also try to have more broadcasts and specials on TV. where people could watch and learn more about the game, players and the teams.
2. I do not think that it is a good idea to build more stadiums. I think that they need to have a solid fan base before they start expanding. They need to do more research and find out how they can capture America's attention. Also, they need to give soccer a little time to settle, where they players are recognizable. I think they need a little more time, before they build more stadiums.
3. With the growing number of the Hispanic population in America, MLS will be able to use the enthusiasm for soccer in the Hispanic community, to grow a large fan base. They could begin to focus their attention in cities with large Hispanic populations and then grow outward from there.
4. Yes, I believe that MLS is protecting the brand of US based soccer, because the US is basically a melting pot as it is. Using the Chivas USA team, they will be able use that familiarity to reach out to Mexican American fans, that may otherwise, not be so accepting to American soccer. The US is "everyone" all races and nationalities and so they are protecting the brand of US based soccer.
