Executive summary
How much milk do you have in your fridge right now? Milk is an essential item that everyone uses but no one ever knows how much they have left. We created a milk scale. Leave your milk on the scale when it’s in the fridge and then from anywhere you can check the website via your phone to tell how much milk you have. Our milk scale will also send you a notification when you are out of milk.
The milk scale is made with a pressure sensor that can tell how much milk there is in the milk jug. The pressure sensor reads the pressure being put on it. For example, if you have a full gallon of milk on the scale the pressure sensor will read a high number and if you are running low on milk the sensor will read a low number. There is a delay on the pressure sensor, so that it won’t respond every time you take your milk off the scale to use it.
Our milk scale is also wireless. The reading from the pressure sensor goes to the Arduino. Then the Arduino sends the pressure sensor reading over Wi-Fi to a website. The Arduino can also send your phone a push notification when the milk is empty. No need to ever run out of milk again.
You can also use the product for different things including ketchup\sauce bottles and any other products in the kitchen.
A user begins by calibrating the scale by placing a full product on top of it. The app then works out when it is roughly half full or almost empty.
The mats come in different sizes, too, so users can monitor a number of items on a cupboard shelf, for example.
OBJECTIVES
- Achieve no less than a 20% for each annum development in deal orders.
- Negotiate and concur with suppliers on better exchange rebates.
- Pay suppliers inside 30-day time frame edge to meet all requirements for rebates.
- Monitor and assess how advisors interface with clients.
- Inspect finished activities and assess the completed venue before utilization.
- Conduct client audit studies to give criticism as how fulfilled clients are with the completed venture.
- Track the beginning date, advance and finished date of every task. Explore ventures that are postponed or running past the evaluated time span.
- Maintain steady contact with suppliers to track request and conveyance of asked for items.
PROBLEMS
To begin making our milk scale we first made a 3D model of what we wanted the scale to look like on Rhino and started to think about how we would design the electronics as well. We started off learning about the basics of Arduino’s and then took the knowledge we had learned and began to apply it to our milk scale. We started experimenting with pressure sensors we could to use to create the scale. We originally thought we would use four pressure sensors in each corner of the scale. The tricky part was we could not get the pressure sensors to work correctly or accurately enough. We thought about hacking an actual scale, but ended up deciding against it.
