Inspirational Speech
School shaped myself to be productive, powerful and passionate. I realised that school teaches you to be self-reliance, social interaction and gives you more confidence. It teaches you the tolerances for other cultures, races and ideologies. It teaches you to avenues for expression of who you really are and sets you realistic goals. It teaches you that life isn’t fair and how to deal with issues and problems relating with that. It teaches and allows you to reach your fullest potential and the challenges of you. There is absolute no chance in this world without school and education. Nelson Mandala stated, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
Another moment was the power of music. The brilliant notes of music pierced through the misty air of morning. It was not the gorgeous airy melody of a woodwind instrument or a melancholy tone from the strings. Neither it was the rich tone of a brass instrument or the thrashing beat of the drum – it was the synchronization and the exquisite harmonies. I started many years ago. Many, many years… Well I started the clarinet, yeah… another clarinet player. It might have been boring at first but not now, it has significantly shaped me today. It has made me confident, compelling and courageous. Now I am here as a passionate player through a mystical journey. So what are you waiting for?
A further momentous memory was the school camps. The days stretched out from foggy, chilly mornings through to hot, blazing afternoons and rain-stormy nights. Spring came with its brilliant rays shining, but with a touch of warmth and a promise of growing seasons. I was finding a glint of the emerald shades of grass, but the perfume of roses took me back in time to a transitory evocation of autumns past. The butterflies beat its wings up and down so piercingly like if a little electrical current opens and shuts its orange vivid blades. Later at the campsite, the air was so fresh and all I could hear was the beautiful sound of the calm river flowing downstream. I am now more self-standing and self-sustaining without being with my family for many days. The camps has clearly made me independent, individualistic and inspirational.
