The Problem and its Background

Introduction

Job satisfaction is a momentous aspect in the recent times to the development and accomplishment of organizations’ goals and objectives. Job satisfaction is the feeling of contentment derived from the appraisal of one's job or job experienced and the understanding that the job is assisting in achieving one's goals (Locke, 1969).It is also a set of favorable or unfavorable feelings and emotions which employees view with their work (Newstorm, 2011).According to Miner (1992), job satisfaction is a significant issue in running of institutions and one of the main indicators of how healthy an organization is. The elements of job satisfaction are related to pay, promotion, benefits, work nature, supervision, and relationship with colleagues (Mosadeghard, 2003).

        The researchers went being observant to the factors that affect job satisfaction rate of the employees in the Municipality of Calumpit. Through it, employees who have longed to their service, and those who are not stimulated a question, relatively to the job satisfaction rate. The curiosity led the researchers to find out the measure of the job satisfaction rate of the employees.

Work is defined as one of the most important aspects in people’s lives in today’s highly competitive corporate environment (Unutmaz, 2014). Some employees didn’t take any specialization in college; many of them enter in a work field that is available for them not because it’s their passion. It was totally affecting the employee’s satisfaction to their job wherein they are not encourage to work because of the happiness they can feel in doing their tasks while receiving income but on the feeling of the receiving money they need because of the job that does not inclined to their passion. Many employees experience a lack of job satisfaction resulting in a low level of employee commitment that, in turn, impacts on performance and the achievement of organizational goals.

The Local Government Unit of the Municipality of Calumpit performs a yearly reshuffling of employees in different department. It is absolutely relative to the employees, encountering new officemates in their designated department where job satisfaction takes place into the employees’ life in work.

This study attempts to document and measure the job satisfaction rate of the employees in local government unit in the Municipality of Calumpit. This research focuses on the department heads and other regular employees where data can be gathered with such conducting surveys. To determine the variables, the independent are the employees in Local Government Unit in Calumpit while the dependent is the job satisfaction rate.
