Katrina
I August 29, 2005 karina made landful near New Orleans making it the largest and most destructive and costliest tropical cyclone to hit the United States for the past 100 years. Katrina left familys without there homes, family members, pets, and jobs. Making it the largest evacuartin in U.S history since hurricane Floyd. Areas affected were Hurricane Katrina were Bahamas, South Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, on August 29, 2005. early after noon It was declared a level 5 hurricane. residents did not take the warnings too seriously and were not ready. And now the aftermath was the biggest news for two weeks now. There has been a lot of opinions being thrown around about why this happened and what went wrong. Many fingers are being pointed to the leaders of our country because actions could have been taken in time to prevent damages. Instead of taking charge of fixing the problem many looked away from the problem, because they were afraid of being blamed for the problem. Hurricane Katrina left billions and billions of dollars in damages, leaving oil and gas prices to surge like never before in history. All of the of the coast up to Houston was left with out gas and no were to go.
I feel that bush had time and the means to help katina victms, who were the ones left behind, African Americans, people living poverty and who don't have the wheels and means to travel outside of new orleans let alone lousina . I think of george bush would took the situation serouly and would acted imedalty in every aspect , for example sending buses ,food supplies, and by fixing the low lying part of the gulf region.
