Management Delegation

Well that's a good question to start with. Let's first ask my good buddy Mr. Webster and he says:
"1 : the act of empowering to act for another. 2 : a group of persons chosen to represent others. "
Delegating authority's or tasks to your employee's is a good tool for many reasons.
1. It allows the manager to focus on more important issues by giving certain tasks to other people.
2. It shows your employee or employee's that you trust them and they are more willing to follow the manager.
3. It allowes the manager to test his employee or employee's to see what their skills and capabilities' are.
4. Can be used as a tool to train future managers.
Delegation allows managers to do what they are supposed to do, "manage".
The only down points to delegation is that is does not allow the manager to see every task to the end. Also, if the manager is not good at it he can give the wrong task to the wrong person and it can fail. But these down points are only disadvantages to people that do not understand the principle of delegation, to empower others.
If a manager oversee's the entire task he gave to his employee then he never delegated, he never showed trust and more importantly he did not gain any trust. All he really did was either give his employee one more reason to quit or one more reason urinate in the managers coffee when the manger isn't looking (I would not mention it if it was not something that happens). Delegation can not work for managers that can't show trust and creativity.
