Every Organization runs off of several factors, but none more important than Values, Vision and Mission. These core principles are integral to the structure of a business and how it operates, for without them, the organization lacks purpose and therefore would fall apart. The basis for this is that without anything to work towards, a company’s employees and staff would have nothing to work towards and thus no reason or anything to do. Without anything to do, Employees would lack purpose and become worthless and what good would useless employees be in a workforce? Values, Vision and Mission give an organization structure and the employees purpose making them a metaphorical backbone for which an organization functions.
I was employed at Five Guys Burgers and Fries where in the organization upheld a very firm set of values, had a vision that was set in stone, and a mission that was set right since the company was founded. My own set of Values, Vision and mission also align quite well with my organization as they reflect a set of morals and expectations I have for myself. They’re simple basic principles in values that also happen to translate well to regular tendencies. Such as human interaction, decency, and striving be the best one can be. Vision is also very relatable, seeing as they aspire to provide the highest quality service at reasonable pricing and with genuine ingredients and procedures to generate a comfortable environment for the consumer. Finally their mission to exceed expectations and be the best that the chain can be in the industry is also fairly standard for most of us as it preys on our desire to be better than anyone and everyone else around us.
The organizations structure is and has proven to be very effective in the work force as it upholds employees to a very high standard to ensure they provide the consumer an experience worthy of their brand name. Without such discipline, the quality of the outgoing product would suffer and cause collateral damage to the company’s reputation. This inspires me to uphold anyone I’m supervising to a similarly high standard as it creates a relaxed but similarly disciplined environment for employees to work in. If Five Guys’ success is anything to go off of, it just goes to show that with enough hard work and genuine effort, it could be a definite boon to a company’ success.
