MDG Double-Chunk Paragraph
Someone’s perception can shape the way they see the world. People’s minds can get clouded by their perception. Zaroff’s and Rainsford’s perception on hunting are different. But Rainsford learns that his some of his perception is wrong but Zaroff being so clouded by his perception finds out in the end of The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell that him being so stubborn on his own perception gets killed by Rainsford after he survives his “little game”.
After Rainsford gets hunted by Zaroff he finds out that it can’t be just be the hunter and huntee and by experiencing this he ends up not wanting to hunt anymore. Rainsford ends up on Zaroff’s island and winds up at his house. They have a nice chat but when Zaroff says that he hunts people and that he thinks that that is normal Rainsford replies,“Hunting? Great Guns, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder”(Connel 8) Then Rainsford thinks about it, how Zaroff hunts people. He would never think that in his life someone would hunt people for fun. After Zaroff then says that in order to escape his island he must win his game, which is to survive being hunted by him for 3 days. During one of the days Zaroff sends out his dogs and when he hears the dogs Rainsford says that “He know knows how an animal at bay feels.” He ends up escaping and when he goes back to Zaroff he ends up killing him and finding out that being the huntee isn’t fun.
