Business looking to move to the cloud need to evaluate their Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) strategies and for some companies they need to begin by developing these strategies. GRC according to SearchCompliance.com is the coordination of the people, processes, and technology in attempt to provide better visibility into the companies risk status (Governance, risk, and compliance FAQ: What does GRC mean to IT strategy, n.d.). GRC is driven in large part due to the ever growing use of devices that extend the company. According to Ramanujam CSP’s allow companies to be able to run GRC applications with ease and with the rapidly changing technology this only makes sense to a company’s bottom-line (Ramanujam, 2014). Of the benefits of GRC to CSP’s is that it does improve security for the CSP as well as monitoring of IT compliance. However with benefits there are are always difficulties. Among those difficulties is the fact of more rules that CSP’s have to monitor and take care of. There is also the fact that it is human nature not to like rules and try to find ways around them. However with technology expanding at the rate the it is CSP’s and Clients must be on their toes in order to keep peoples information safe.
