My Background

Everyone has heard stories of people overcoming obstacles in their lives to become great assets to society. Well I would like to reveal to you how I would like to turn my life into one of those stories. My name is Alyssa LoRae Bauer, I am an eight-teen year old female. I reside in Worland, Wyoming, there at which I am a senior at Worland High School. Prior to my birth my parents lived in Norfolk, Nebraska. They were seeking better job opportunities which then later led them to Worland. After securing a solid job, they decided to raise a family. My brother, Jeremy, was the first child born into the family. Next to be born was my sister, Rhonda, and my adopted sister, Carma. Lastly, would be me, I was born in Washakie County Hospital, on August 9, 1988. I spent my childhood being raised in the small world of agriculture.
My family has always been there for me because of the love that they have for me. But, I often times think that they used all of that care and respect on me and not themselves. My father was always the toughest one to get along with. I rarely was able to see my father, because his job seemed to be his life. Whenever he was working he always ended up staying in different towns, often times for months which later turned into years. Though as selfish as it seemed to me at that time, as I matured that he wasn't just doing it for himself, but, for the whole family. During all this time he was away he was having
withdrawals about being away from his family. For that he sent home money to try and fill the empty void he left in my childhood. Without his family there to fill his time, he found an escape through alcohol. There my hardworking father was trying to support his family and his alcoholism and loneliness. I can remember phone conversations that occurred every night between my parents, at first their purpose was just to check up and see how things were fairing on both sides.
