My Law Of Life

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. These are words that I now live my life by; this saying has helped me through many times in my life from skateboarding to lacrosse. So this is my law of life and one of my favorite quotes. I will discuss and provide you information on how this quote has affected my life in many good ways.

This quote has helped me through one of my most prized abilities, skateboarding. Skateboarding was a sport I did avidly from the time I was in seventh grade until the second semester of my tenth grade year, and I still do it scarcely. Skateboarding as a sport is very hard to embark on, it takes a lot of balance, coordination, and skill. In my first months of skating I wanted to give up and quit. My dad insisted that I stick with it and told me "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." Hence, I did. Toward the end of my ninth grade summer; I was selected for and sponsored by the Impossible Skate Team in Hiram, GA. Nevertheless this came to an end with a knee injury and I was kicked off the Team, for the reason that I could no longer skate to the extent of a competition level. So this is the start of my love for this quote.

One day I was walking through my school campus, and a new coach approached me with a proposition to play a sport I have never played before. This sport was lacrosse, I have heard of the sport but have never played, or seen it played. The first day I went to meet with the coach, he was trying to teach me to throw and catch. I could not do it, I persistently threw the ball high or low. I also could not catch; the ball would hit off my stick or fall out of the crosse every time I tried to catch the ball. The coach simply said to me, "If at first you don't succeed try, try, again." Now I am playing lacrosse every day after school. I am going to play varsity my first year of ever playing, in addition my coach has told me that he can get me into any school that
