My Writing Process
Each of us has different ways to focus and set the mood for writing. For many people, no noise, no music is the best option. For me, the inspiration to write is not easy. Sometimes, though I want to do, the ideas do not come to mind. Other times, I am unable to explain with words. However, when I want to take those ideas to paper; I prefer to isolate myself as much as I can to be fully focused and concentrated. This means I have to finish all possible distractions before to star writing. Usually, my time is limited for many reasons: my school, my job, being a mother of a little girl, who is always asking my attention, and organizing my house are some major distractions that affect my concentration at time of writing. But, I cannot do it very often. I can choose my time when my day starts (early) or when it ends (before going to bed). At this time, I get quiet, everything in my house is silent, and nobody distracts me. I could say, “This is the perfect setting to take a paper and a pencil and put into words all my ideas”.
Rarely, I get to write about something without knowing I will try in my writings. Many times, for my assignments or personal writings I have tried using a digital medium (Ipad, desktop, or laptop) but in the end it's impossible. I prefer to go to the most traditional and take a paper and a simple pencil. Write and write down everything I have in mind, and then organize and edit in a digital media, preferably a laptop.
As I said before, is very difficult to me to get inspiration. However, when I start, I get excited and I cannot stop. Therefore, I prefer to set limits before to start something because in this way helps me to do it more efficiently.
However, so I try to put all this into practice. Often, I have to write where I can, when I can, or just when I have the opportunity to do. So, I adapt and I take any corner or space to write: a room, trains, buses, parks and even in the school.
All told, at the end, the most important thing is that everything I write to help me in some way.
