Myself as a Leader - Personal Essay

MYSELF AS A LEADER

Leadership refers to the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal while a leader is the person who leads or commands a group of people or an organization. Leadership involves establishing a clear vision, sharing that vision with others so that they will follow willingly, providing the information, knowledge and methods to realize that vision and coordinating and balancing the conflicting interests of all members. As an individual this is a very important character that everyone should have in themselves. Here we will take a look at myself as a leader.  

First all, as a leader it is very important for any person to have good communication skills. In order to make the right decision or to keep the company well organized I believe that good communication is very important. Therefore, putting myself as a leader, in my opinion I have good communication skills. Reaching up to people and understanding their opinions and participating with them in the work process is something that I would be able to do. Moreover, I believe that I am able to convey information to people clearly and simply in a way that everything is understood by the fellow colleagues.

Secondly, it is strongly believed that without confidence there is no leadership. Self-confidence means that one needs to have a positive image. Self-confidence means that it is necessary for the leader to take risks and accomplish high goals. As a leader, self-confidence is one feature that I have in myself. I strongly believe that confidence is the fundamental basis in which leadership grows. Being a leader I am able to make the right decisions confidently with the risks that are involved. I am also able to set high aims and goals which I believe that I will be able to achieve. Therefore, I believe that confidence is a feature that I have in myself as a good leader.  

Another main or important feature as a good leader that I have is commitment. Having obstacles on the path to accomplishing a goal is common. However backing off at the last moment or midway is something that I would not opt for. Doing the works or carrying out the responsibilities with dedication is something I would prefer doing. Commitment to face the obstacles and achieving the goals that you set up is very important. Hence, as a leader I would say that I am one who is committed.

During my previous schools, I took part in some activities and took responsibility of leading some club activities as a president of the club. This post required a lot of leadership qualities and characteristics which I had to fulfill with honesty and courage. I can say that I did do a good job in carrying out my duties as I was able to keep the group together and deliver the messages and information that I needed to. Moreover, I also did conduct successful events such as trips which required a great teamwork and understanding. Hence, I can say that as a leader I had performed quite well.
