Executive Summary
The Nissan Motor Company has a global reputation for its operations dating back to 1933. The company was established in Yokohama, Japan under the name the Jidosha Seizo Co. Ltd. However, the name was changed to Nissan Motor Company Limited in 1934. The firm’s operations were solely in the manufacture and sale of cars and trucks, not only in Japan but also outside the borders. The formation of a trading alliance between the Nissan and Renault in 1999 contributed significantly towards its success, largely in Australia. It also became the fourth largest automobile group in the world. The Nissan Company in Australia has its headquarters in Dandenong, Victoria. The country’s operations are carried out in other regional offices across the country. Australian Nissan has benefitted from the favorable political, social and economic environment within the country. Besides, with the nation recording commendable rate of technological advancement, the firm has benefitted greatly in the production and marketing processes. The organizational structure born at the merger between Renault and the Nissan worked to salvage the company from the financial crises it faced in late 20th century. The business has an equal strength in internal organization and management structure which ensures a smooth running in the automotive industry. Nevertheless, it has had to face a loss of reputation in the recent past in the wake of such scandals as the malfunctioning airbags and other safety features in their production. However, these weaknesses would easily be overcome if the company management focused on and exploited the perceived strengths and opportunities in the Australian market.
Introduction
Among other automotive groups operating in the competitive Australian market has been the Nissan Motor Company. Since its establishment in the country, the company has had great success and has been highly rated at the global automobile market.
