Project Proposal Form

Please complete ALL sections of the following form.

Section 1: General information

Student Name: Pierre de Saint Vincent

Proposed name of your game: Number Rain

Describe the game you are going to attempt. If it is based on an already existing game please give the details and a link for reference. Note the changes you will need to make to the game for your version. If it is an original game, describe it as thoroughly as you can.

The game I am going to make is inspired from “Lane Splitter Game” but I will put my knowledge to innovate it and make it an educational game. My educational game will start with a Math truck dropping numbers on to the ground and the goal of student is to dodge these numbers. The perpetuate numbers falling will obligate kids to count and help them in there education.

State the objective(s) of the game.

The main objective of the game I am creating is to drop numbers from a truck and the person playing is a student trying to go around these numbers without getting stuck. This helps kids learn numbers in a fast and creative way and doing that having fun in the same time.

Section 2: Analysis – A brief description of how you are planning to code the game. Describe the procedures you will need to create your game. DO NOT write the procedures.

Outline the proposed procedures you will need and indicate which procedures will be in setup and which will be in play:

Setup procedure:

to setup

  ca

user-message "You may start taking your Exam"

import-drawing "how to learn math 2.png"

  makeStudent

  set levels 1

end

This setup procedure is to start with the student in the bottom of the screen and in the same time a background will show. At the start the message will pop up, also the levels will start at this point.

Play/Go:

The play procedure is a lot longer but it allows the student to have a shape and levels to go up if person does not die. Also in the play procedure is where is set when the player dies, each time it gets hit by a number a lightning pops up and a message come on the screen.

Outline the details of the various levels (you need 3), specifically what are the requirements to advance to the next level and what changes with each level:

The first level will be the easiest because it is the one the player has to understand how to play. When level two arrives the numbers will fall down faster and this will happened on each level. The higher the level, the faster the numbers fall and the harder it is to survive the swarming of numbers.

Each level the numbers gets directed to the student faster and faster, and the challenge becomes harder every time. There are over 10 levels.

Describe the planned user interface:

To dropnumbers and To start truck are bot of the procedures that start the game.

  • The dropnumbers allows the numbers to fall out of the truck while it is passing by, but in the same time they are directed straight towards you.

  • The StartTruck procedure is when I command the truck to go by the top of the screen constantly and dropping numbers. When it passes by it dies at the end and reappears on the next side causing a never-ending “rain of numbers”.
