Othello is a professional of great mercenary soldier and also he is a heroic black,which ironically,
is doing service with all the other high-rank white society in Venice.
In this passage,Othello and Brabantio talked face to face with each other; trying to out-talked each other.
Othello was trying to defend himself and and profess his love while Brabantio was accusing Othello
that Othello must have done something that caused Desdemona to marry someone like him.
Othello was talking in long vowels,like'O' in 'most potent...signiors.'This sentence signifies
that Othello respects the laws and judges of Venice.He,too, talked in a good manner as he knows
infront of im,there were Dukes and Senators.As he held a high ranking in the army,it is
appropriate for him to speak and talk in a respectable and good mannered way.This shows that he is a
respectable man and with a good upbringing and particular with the way he presents himself to others.
'Old man's daughter,'here,Othello sounds a little rude to Brabantio,his father-in-law.He should not
have called him 'old man' as Brabantio is still mad at him and he should try to decreased the tension
between them,but instead,he pours oil to the fire.But, Othello chose to speak in that harsh tone,
to potrays himself as someone strict but at the same time persuasive,to show Brabantio that he
really loves Desdemona and would do anything for her.There is a contradicting tone between the first
line
