Outsourcing Jobs 1
Outsourcing Jobs to foreign countries provides cheaper labor costs with happy shareholders and distraught American families. But do the Pros outweigh the Cons? I don't think so. There are far too many reasons why companies need to stop the outsourcing and bring the jobs back to the American workers. In America it used to be you could go right from high school to an apprenticeship program in a manufacturing or assembly plant or various other jobs and learn a trade. Outsourcing has taken those types of jobs away from American youth and given them to foreign countries such as China, Viet Nam, South Korea, Thailand, and India. Take a minute to look at the products that you have in your home, such as ball caps, clothes, electronics, TV's, major appliances, cars, and even IT an customer support jobs. Isn't it really sad that you can hardly find American made products on the shelves? Should that's be something that American's need to change? Yes it is!
The outsourcing of jobs causes loss of employment for American workers and their families. Loss of employment is just the beginning; families lose their health care benefits which puts more pressure on the Medicare and welfare system, systems that are already overburdened. The sudden loss of pension or retirement for some Americans is devastating, knowing that the

time they have put in to a job will mean nothing when they retire. And then the only thing that they have to rely on is social security and how much longer can we depend on that.
I don't believe in outsourcing, but a little is going to happen whether we agree with it or not. If companies are going to outsource jobs the workforce needs to have a commitment from companies to provide transition and cross training for employees. Why do companies outsource Jobs? Is it really because of Healthcare benefits, workman's compensation insurance, high operation costs, decreased profits, and lack of
Productivity or all of the above? That is what the companies big excuses are today for outsourcing.
In this article highlighting a series of surveys that will examine, the lack of confidence of the American people in US foreign policy. The article says;
"Most Americans surveyed (74 percent) felt that it was unlikely that U.S. companies would keep jobs in the country when labor is cheaper elsewhere. And 52 percent of the respondents believed it was unrealistic to think that the government could do anything to stop corporations from

sending jobs abroad. On the other hand, a large plurality (44 percent) said they believe the U.S. government could do a lot to prevent jobs from moving overseas if it really tried." Yankelovich, 2006, the tipping points, Ð'¶15.
How many jobs are they going to give away? Some Americans think that it is unrealistic for American companies to stop outsourcing. That congress should make laws to corral the runaway problem. 2006 will be the tipping point in the United
States. In the United States outsourcing jobs is coming to and arguing point for political issues and for elections.
