Wherever anyone goes in today's world, someone will have to have an opinion that he or she feels the need to share with the public. People usually hear that speaker, some will listen, and some will not. The real question is whether or not the public opinions of that person really matter; are they worthwhile.

In the United States for example, people have the right to express themselves through freedom of speech and press, and enjoy that right. Everywhere you go, there is always someone - a political figure, an entertainer, or even a regular person, tells his or her opinion to the world. Take the "Dixie Chicks" for example, they voiced their opinions to the world about George W. Bush, and looked what happened to them. People started burning their CD's and it even came to a point where they couldn't even stay on tour because the threat that someone could get killed got put into effect. The media completely blasted them, by stating how they are politically incorrect, and so on. The public has become lazy and the beliefs of "higher" people such as political figures put an image in the public's mind, which therefore influences their beliefs. The Dixie Chicks stuck with their beliefs and didn't take back what they said even though it lessened their fans and weren't making the money they wanted to, and I respect them for that. Every person has the legal right to publicly state their beliefs, and every person certainly deserves to be heard, but it is the responsibility of the listeners to incorporate other beliefs into their own, and not to lose sight of their own in a media saturated world.

Rush Limbaugh is an example of a very opinionated person; he says whatever he wants, and he has the right to do so. Limbaugh is very conservative, so not everyone that listens to his radio program agrees with what he is saying.
