To be a degree of excellence is what it is vaguely meant to have or be of quality; or it should. This word is being thrown around every which way and the definition has become hazed. The declaration of "quality" is used often in sales, marketing, and public relations to describe their product or service and even people.

An essential word when trying to sell a product has now become "quality". However, the word is hardly advertised single-handedly. It is often paired up; with such phrases as "high quality" and "superior quality". How does the sales company differentiate between their product and the product of their competitor if they both use the words high quality? Take the motel chain Quality Inn as an example. The name of the company should say it in itself Ð'- right? However, the name Quality Inn is quite possibly no where near the "quality" of such upper-class luxury hotel brands such as the Westin or Ritz-Carlton. They don't have the word quality in their name or even as their slogan. Does that mean whoever uses the word quality in their slogan and/or company name may not be up to par with other brands? Of course not, however, it is just one example of how out of control this advertisement of "quality products" is. It is difficult to sum up an exact definition of the word quality, as someone could make it too vague, or just not agree with the definition entirely.

Qualities in people are what other people and companies look for until they find a perfect match. As in everything else, the quality within people is still in the eye of the beholder; maybe even more in terms of matching versus product comparison. A person and company are the same in a way when finding a perfect person for the situation. Both tend to interview, to put it bluntly, to see if the person is compatible. They want someone who is going to be with them for the rest of their lives and spend countless hours
