Results
Table 1
Matrix of Pearson correlation Coefficient (N=100)
QOL mean | DAS mean | |
QOL mean | 1 | -.323** |
(.001) | ||
DAS mea | 1 |
Table 1 indicates the relationship between death anxiety and Quality of life among thalassemia patient QOL has strong negative correlation with DASr= .323, (.001)** – P< 0.05.
Table 2
Mean standard deviation t-value and P-value for Quality of life male and female (N 100)
Gender | N | M | SD | T | P | |
QOL | Male | 44 | 2.00 | .437 | ||
-2.633 | .917 | |||||
Mean | Female | 56 | 2.23 | .452 |
Table 2 indicate the compassion at QOL in male and female. The average mean score and standard deviation of male patients on QOL x is (M= 2.O, SD = .437) and for female patient are (M= 2.23, SD= .452) independent T-test has been applied there is no significance difference between tow variables t= 2.633, (.917) P >0.05
Table 3
Means, standard deviation, t- value and P- value for death anxiety male and female patient (N=100)
Gender | N | M | SD | T | P | |
DAS | Male | 44 | .579 | .1683 | ||
.708 | .458 | |||||
Mean | Female | 56 | .557 | .1476 |
Table 3 indicate the comparison of death anxiety in male and female patient.(caculated through t-test) The average mean score and standard deviation of male patients on death anxiety scale is (M= .57, SD = .168) and for female patients scores on received social support are (M = .557, SD = .1476). independent T-test has been applied it reveals there is no significance difference between two variables t= .708, (.458) P> 0.05
Conclusion
Thalassemia is an inherited autosomal recessive blood disease. There is a significant relationship between death anxiety and quality of life among thalassemia patient the children were most likely to report impaired QOL due to seven difficulties in pain.
