Business Research Ethics

Research can be the promotion of truth from knowledge. Studying global offshore outsourcing is challenging to provide active and regulated solutions.  It is, however, significant research which can yield precise results that companies in the medical industry as well as in various industries rely on as valuable information.  To weigh between the difference of domestic and outsourced employees is somewhat questionable to research because of some of its abstract values. Especially depending on how the information is to be interpreted.  To manage the task of investigating the facts must be scrutinized with great clarity of its aim.  

Offshore Outsourcing in the Medical Industry Research

There are articles from the most extreme of unethical research practices to at best to be interpreted by its recipient for a decision about hiring offshore or onshore outsourced workers.  Take for instance an article from Henry Adobor, who posed the dilemma for the outsourcing of medical research.  The research for the drug testing has been outsourced offshore due to its actual drug research due to high competitiveness and new markets, (Adobor, 2015).   There is a broad research as to how to read into outsourced offshore workers in comparison to the onshore workers of the United States. McCormick states that there has initially been 49% of outsourcing done due to cost reduction in the workforce, (McCormick, 2011).

Does Research Affect Anyone?

  Research can be measured but unclear by managers who are not experts and wish only to deliver positive results to its stakeholders. Many times the subjects who are sampled and surveyed do not fully understand the research since some of the managers come from other departments and other competencies that are not operational.  The researchers generally won't expose the testing objectives to the workers so to not contaminate the accurate results. Hence, the injuries come from the employee’s ability to continue working and maintaining a way of life to losing it all after cuts made by executives who decide based on the researchers aim to reduce costs.  Most organizations do not see the harm in such testing but look at just numbers which then conclude to job cuts or company downsizing. There has been some turnaround onshore outsourcing steadily increasing because of the emergence of technology and its synchronization growth in the United States in comparison to other offshore, outsourced countries.

Socially, the research done by companies internally is an accepted practice to protect its interests in a systematic, unbiased measurement of core competencies.    These adverse effects are most commonly noticed by the lower echelons of the onshore workforce. In our society, we also accept that business decisions are not personal yet sometimes these changes occur with little research or “The Greater Good” perspective taken into serious consideration for the community which again are all based on the findings of research companies brought in externally.
