School Uniforms A Must

In the past decade, students have shifted their focus from education to fashion. Students are judging each other based on what kind of clothes they are wearing rather than what kind of grades they are making. I was told that when you hang around people who are successful, you yourself become successful. If students are choosing their friends based on what they are wearing rather than what grades they are making then the amount of successful people coming out of schools will drop. And people wonder why numbers of students dropping out of high school, dropping out of college, or even going to college are decreasing.
Uniforms in the public education system is a great idea, not only is it cost effective, but also it gives the students a chance to concentrate on their studies and not have to worry about what to wear tomorrow. Plus, the crime or violence rate drops in schools that have a uniform policy; and those that do not belong on campus are spotted quicker and easier. Most importantly, fighting between parents and their children about what is appropriate to wear to school will be ended. Private schools and many public schools have already adopted this idea.
Not only are school uniforms cheaper than the everyday attire of the average student, but they never go out of style, so they can be worn until they become too small and then they can be handed down to younger siblings. The way the kids are dressed is more important than the grades they make. The students who don't have the money to buy all the newest clothes tend to not go to school as much because they feel that they don't fit in. The kids that come from lower class level backgrounds are the kids out there selling drugs and committing the crimes, but the money made goes to buy the latest designer jeans, just so they are cool at school. With uniforms, students are unable to make fun of each other because of the way they are dressed and can make friends based on personality instead of clothing.
