I personally enjoy many different kinds of art and entertainment. I love seeing new things, and getting exposed to new ideas and sounds and forms. But there are a few things that rule over everything else.

First, if I were to choose the one art form that makes me feel the most sophisticated, I would have to choose live theater. Performing on stage is such a rush, and people think that it is so difficult to do, and to a degree it is, and they envy you for being able to dedicate yourself to something that is at times intense. It gives a sense of being better than the general population, that so many people wish they could be acting, and you actually are. Also, going to see a professional company perform, whether it be in Downtown Cleveland, Akron, New York City, wherever; is most definitely a beautiful experience. You always have to get dressed up for the occasion, because professional theater is classy. It makes me think of the early twentieth century, when going to the orchestra or theater was a huge event, and everyone wore their best clothes to the performances. And more often than not, when the performance is over, you go out to eat someplace nice, since you already look your best.

Second, the one work of art that I would consider my guilty pleasure is Britney Spears' music. All music is art, even if it is bad, as in Britney's case. Her music almost invariably has a catchy hook, a danceable beat, and a fun remix. The lyrics to her songs are incredibly bubble-gum oriented, so you never have to think to hard when you listen to her music. And very rarely are her songs depressing ballads. And even those are so badly written that you still can not take it seriously, because you know she did not write them herself. I believe that part of the reason that I like Britney Spears so much is because she represents part of my childhood, or reminds me of it anyway. That
