Question 1
Sorelle Bakery is about the second generations of Italians who understood the commitment of owning a business Sabina Donato and her husband Joseph who had two daughters Joan and Sabina. Joan put together business plan and took out loan with her husband Edward, in order to open restaurant also Joan’s parents invested there savings in the Sorelle Bakery. Even though they knew nothing about running a business, there was a partnership, but the wasn’t formal division of duties between the two. There was a plan about how the duties would be divided but this plan was not followed. The restaurant began to gain favor and popularity which applied too much pressure on Susan as she was solely responsible for preparing the delicacies. The major causes of Susan’s problem started when they couldn’t meet the demands of their customers and limited help was available to her even though they hired more help. She felt that the work of Joan was light and pleasurable. This problem escalated over time as the demand for Sorelle Bakery products increased. The bakery grew famous and a large proportion of the customers were regular, Susan started doing more physical work, and worked long hours. Susan resented Joan because she felt she was doing the physical work whish was stressful and couldn’t stand her, they argued all the time. They invited Maria to mediate between the two by calling a meeting to discuss all their grievance about the restaurant but Susan later quit.

The OD intervention process which needs to be adopted is Team Building. I have selected this intervention because it increase the teams understanding of team dynamics and improve how the team works together. Unlike working as an individual or group, working as a team incorporates group accountability rather than individual accountability, it encourage both individual and team development and improvement, focuses on group goals to accomplish more beneficial tasks and Improved range of team building objectives such as collaboration, communication and increased creative or flexible thinking. Without Team building there will be decreased productivity, Conflicts and hostility, Confusion about assignments and unclear relationships and decisions are misunderstood or nor carried out completely,
