STARTEGIES USED IN PERSONAL DAILY LIFE AND WORK PLACE

INTRODUCTION

The importance of strategy cannot be overemphasized, the success and continuity of a business is dependent on the strategies formulated.(Robynne,2011). Strategy is key; it gives a firm coordination and sets out feasible plans.

Strickland (2017) defined strategy as ‘’managers scheme for administering an enterprise and conducting its affairs’’. In terms of military definition, strategy is a careful planning of putting troops into position before the enemy is attacked.(Fred Nikols,2016).

STRATEGIES USED IN PERSONAL LIFE

Of all individual growth strategies, the one I use the most is planning bearing in mind my goals. I write down what I intend to achieve in the short and long term. Forexample, I put together my thoughts on things to achieve on Saturday by Monday and I keep reviewing tillThursday. After then, I plan out implementation.

Having a strategy in one’s life is a tremendous way to plan the future as this helps to achieve desired results (Jeff Sanders, 2018)

STRATEGIES USED IN THE WORK PLACE

The working environment is a dynamic place, we do not all behave alike, so at times there will be a little friction. Ihave learned to be patient and also, I developedpeople managementskills.

Occasionally, the mind and body is not ready to work due to stress related hormones that can disrupt sleep and appetite, so what I do is to exercise to relax and calm my mind.

EMERGENT AND DELIBERATE STRATEGIES

Emergent strategy (realized strategy) is an order of occurrences that evolve in a firm overtime without clear missions and goals. (Gibran, 2012)

Deliberate strategy is when an organisation’s goals and objectives are clearly set most times by the Leadership Team and communicated to associates in order to achieve desired results.

The major difference between the two is that emergent strategy is a bottom up approach to management, unexpected outcomes are identified from the execution and thenincorporated into future plans while deliberate strategy is a top down approach, management emphasizes on achieving intended objective.
