Overview

The leading outsourcing company ÐŽV Infosys Technologies ÐŽV is an India based global company specialized in Information Technology Outsourcing and Business Process Outsourcing (http://www.infosys.com ). Infosys defines, designs and delivers IT-enabled business solutions that help Global 2000 companies win in a flat world. These solutions focus on providing strategic differentiation and operational superiority to clients. With Infosys, clients are assured of a transparent business partner, world-class processes, speed of execution and the power to stretch their IT budget by leveraging the Global Delivery Model that Infosys pioneered. Infosys has over 72,000 employees in over 39 offices worldwide. Infosys is part of the NASDAQ-100 Index. The strategic plan of this class will be based on the research of Infosys through various channels such as corporate website, peer-reviewed articles and business journals such as business weeks.

Mission Statement

The mission of a company is the unique purpose that sets it apart from other companies of its type and identifies the scope of its operations (Pearce & Robinson, 2005, p. 12). The mission statement posted on Infosys corporate website is as follows: ÐŽ§To achieve our objectives in an environment of fairness, honesty, and courtesy towards our clients, employees, vendors and society at largeЎЁ (Anonymous, 2006). This statement includes all the major elements such as corporate characters, stakeholders as well as its social responsibilities.

Vision Statement

A corporate vision should be ÐŽ§an articulation of a simple criterion or characterization of what the company must become to establish and sustain global leadershipÐŽ§(Pearce & Robinson, 2005, p. 340). The vision statement of Infosys is ÐŽ§to be a globally respected corporation that provides best-of-breed business solutions, leveraging technology, delivered by best-in-class peopleЎЁ (Anonymous, 2006). The vision of a company can be constantly changing based on the refinement of its narrowly defined strategic intent. As Suketu Patel (head of Strategic Global Sourcing, Infosys) puts it, ÐŽ§its vision is strong on what it describes as Modular Global Sourcing, in which various suppliers work together to deliver innovation in the customer environment, and it has adjusted its vision for engagement governance accordinglyЎЁ.
