In this modern age, it truly does not matter where one receives a degree. What matters is what is learned. Recruiters will say that it is not where the degree cam from but is learned. This guide will go over how to use the educational resources available made to the students, Academic Honesty, Goal Setting, how to manage time wisely, Reading and Retention and finally applying a personality and learning style.

Using Axia's Educational Resources

It is assumed that just by enrolling in Axia or any online school is that one is familiar with using a computer. During the course that is taken, there are two ways to download assignments: From the main page, go to the "course materials" icon and select, then find the syllabus, open that go to whatever week that is being worked on. Anything that is needed to download will be hyperlinked, just follow the link and download. The second way is still starting in the main page, go to the "course materials" icon and there will be a week by week summary of the coursework along with anything that need to be downloaded. Either way once something is selected to be downloaded, a dialog box will open giving a choice of opening or saving. Opening is just that open the file. Saving, there will be a choice to save where to save, for example: the hard drive, or a portable drive.

The university library is a useful tool in the learning process. Within the library there is a tutorial on how to use the library. The search words will be highlighted in the results, thus finding key information in the articles.

There is a document that explains the plagiarism policy at Axia. That is something that should be read and understood. There are consequences of plagiarism, the one mainly to be concerned about for the most part a bad grade. Taking down holiday decorations is an example of a short-term goal, achieving a degree would be considered long-term. If goal achievement were easy, everyone could do it, but not everyone can.

Everyone has obstacles to delay them from goals. Lack of time is the main reason of not receiving a degree. Distance learning means, one does not have to dedicate time to go to class. Before the class starts, all the material for is already available for the entire class, so the assignments can be done at leisure. Of course there are due dates on what assignments needs to be done, and there is classroom discussions. This requirement is beneficial.

Managing Time Wisely

At Axia two courses happen at a time. The two courses stagger each other. One week is a discussion week, and the other week is assignment week, that way the student is not overwhelmed with assignments for two different classes at once. Job, family, and now school assignment or discussion
