My reasons for participating in this travel study experience are too numerous to list in a 250 word essay. My main reason would probably be what I hope to learn, which is something new. I know this sounds very broad and ambiguous, but I'm not sure what I'll learn from this experience yet. I know I will meet some great people and tour some amazing businesses, but what they will instill in me is still a mystery. Every new experience I have embraced has changed how I look at my life, and I am a much better person for all of them. I love to see a new perspective on the United States. It is hard to truly understand how others perceive us until you hear what they have to say. I want to get out of my comfortable college routine and live a life other than my own. I also really enjoy the cultural aspect of travel study opportunities. I could never have imagined the influence the people themselves would have on my life until after my study abroad experience. They taught me just as much, if not more, than the tours and the university. Because of my experience, I would like to travel abroad again. I have chosen, because I want to see the real and not the resort. I would like to see how their perceive Americans and American business, because they share our border. Their views and opinions are very much a mystery to me right now, and I want to understand the people who are in such proximity to the United States.
