Super Market Scene in IGA
D.P
I have chosen the supermarket scene in IGA as it Charlies first time in the film to be open in public without his mother. Normally the lady of the house would be shopping, although Maggie at this time is in hospital hoping to have as baby. This scene is very confronting as it shows how Charlie acts in a public place and how others react to him misbehaving. Simon, the father, has to take full responsibility of Charlie’s actions. Normally Maggie is the one who controls Charlie when he goes out of control. The scene makes you cringe at times and also puts you in an awkward position.

Straight away Simon realises he does not have enough to pay as he only has one hundred dollars. The angle changes to the Thomas again as he smirks and says “I told you”. He knew that there was more than one hundred dollars. Charlie at this moment does not recognize what is going on.
Shortly after, the camera view changes to Charlie. He starts to see the Simon removing items from the bag and the checkout lady removing them from the total bill. Charlie’s facial expression changes dramatically. He
