SIMULATION AND TRAINING, INC. (PHILCAMSAT), formerly PTC training Center, was established in May 26, 1992, to develop world-class capability in Filipino seafarers.
PHILCAMSAT was the first maritime training center in the Philippines thrice-certified by Det Norske Veritas with the following certifications:

PHILCAMSAT utilizes and continues to enhance state-of-the-art simulators, to provide training experience as close as possible to the actual shipboard environment. It is the first training center in the Philippines to acquire the Kongsberg Norcontrol Polaris Full Mission Ship Bridge Simulator, Engine Room Simulator Plant Propulsion Trainer and the Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator.
2. Company History
The Philippine Center for Advanced Maritime Simulation and Training, Inc. (PHILCAMSAT), formerly the PTCI Training Center, Inc., Was established on May 26, 1992. In 1995 the Company acquired the computer-based "Selection, Evaluating and Testing System" from Videotel to better access the level of technical knowledge of PTC's recruited officers and staff. Upgrading courses such as Shipboard Safety, GMDS, ARPA, HAZMAT, and Protection and Environment are also offered by the Center. Added to this are Maritime English, Personal safety and social responsibility and Senior Managerial Enhancement courses for the wholistic development of its sea staff.
Recently the Center purchased a Cargo Handling Simulator, Plant Propulsion Simulator and a Full Mission Bridge Simulator from Norcontrol in Norway. At the same time a franchise agreement with SEAGULL AS of Norway was also entered into for the conduct of Simulator Training in Critical Situations. Instructors are duly trained and accredited by SEAGULL AS/ Vestfold College.
PHILCAMSAT is the first training institution in the Philippines to receive three Quality System Certifications in 1999, namely ISO 9001: 1994; DNV rules for Maritime Training Center; and DNV Rules for Maritime Simulation Training Center. It is committed to provide clients with the highest quality of training.
On April of 2002, PHILCAMSAT was recertified according to the new ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Standard System.

Simulator Training
PHILCAMSAT recognizes the value of hands-on simulator training as a tool to help current and potential ship officers gain mastery over the complexities of maritime activities in constantly-varying conditions. This company thus pioneered in acquiring various state-of-the-art simulators from Kongsberg Norcontrol (reknown worldwide for maritime automation and navigation systems) to provide realistic, effective and comprehensive training for ship officers such as on:
Full Mission Bridge Simulator
This is used in upgrading competencies in performing navigational functions. Skills in ship-handling, maneuvering, bridge resource management, collision avoidance and steering are taught, practiced, and assessed using the simulator's advanced capabilities.
Liquid Handling Cargo Simulator
This enables trainees to perform cargo operations in exercises that simulate cargo environment in the ship. Different ship models such as oil, chemical, product, LPG, and LNG are available to address specific training requirements.
Engine Room Simulator
This provides marine engineers practical exercises in operating main and auxiliary machineries and associated control systems. Simulation of safety and emergency operation gives the opportunity to learn how to effectively implement them.
