Egg Bungee Jump Party

Purpose:

To use multiple measurements to correctly predict the number of rubber bands needed to provide a “safe and thrilling Jump” from a height of 2 meters(2m) and to gather data to be used in future calculations for forces,energy,Hooke’s Law,etc.

Materials:

Raw Egg(unaltered) 4- Paper Clips

Plastic Bag(small) 3- Pipe Cleaners

Rubber Bands 12 in piece of masking tape

14 in piece of string 2 pop can tabs

Procedure:

Collect all the necessary supplies to do the lab.

Take your egg to Mr. Schuler so he can attach the first rubber band to the egg.

Make a data table to record all data to obtain and record data.

Find the mass of the egg on a scale.

Test the bungee 3 times with 1 rubber band and record data.

Repeat step 5 with 2,3,and 4 rubber bands.

Add the necessary amount of rubber bands for the height given.

Record all the data on the data table.
