Abstract

Times have changed. Fast. Since yesterday even. The digital era has changed communication and interpersonal relationship tremendously. As we know that digital communication tools also bring us a lot of convenient and simple. But is it necessary that we must always rely on digital communication tools? On the other hand, the social interaction in the digital context has changed. People communicate with each other through multiple ways to express such as like natural language, tones, facial expressions, gestures and body language. Nowadays, people started turning into a ‘digital communication bubble’ by using communication apps for social interaction.

Project content: Focus Area

In this era globalization, human in interpersonal communication changing appreciably. Although it brings our technology more convenient and advanced, but also it also reduced our human communication skills and emotional intelligence, difficult to having in-depth conversations. Therefore, I will try to analyze the timeline between old times until now about the digital communication and study how people’s lives are get affected by digital communication.

Objective

- To enhance and strengthen the knowledge about history of digital communication.

- Analyze the pros and cons of the digital communication tools in this generation.

- Delivery the messages about how it does affect and influence us in our daily life.

Target Audience

Technophile, Smartphone users, Students.

Creative setting: Designs framework , Key areas of exploration

For this project I will use website for my platform, a website that show the evolution of the digital communication tools, some messages that delivery how it affects our lives. There are some vector design for visualisation to increase the interest of the viewers. The style of the website will be like 2D parallax scrolling. The interface of the website is clean and tidy which applied a lot flat design elements.

The key area of exploration is to let viewers know that rely on too much digital communication tools will cause a lot of bad communication skills, lack of social life, laziness. The development of the digital communication is going better and fast, but rely too much on these stuff also will cause the negative effect. Therefore, I believe that it can change their perspective of thinking that although the technology is going more advanced but it can influence to your life, cause less happiness.

Engagement Factors

The engagement factors of this project are apply the style and responsive web design on the website. The style of the website is parallax style like is parallax scrolling, which involves the background moving at a slower rate to the foreground, creating a 3D effect as you scroll down the page. It can sometimes be overwhelming, but when used sparingly it can provide a nice, subtle element of depth.

Human Factors

My human factors for this project is interactivity. Viewers could understand the visual and how to interact with the website. Other than that, interface settings also one of my human factors, the visual could get the attention of the viewers, like using the vector graphic design element on the website and the content will be at beside of the graphic element. Clear and sharp telling people about the description of the content. On the other hand, screen size and resolution is one of the human factors. It can display on any screen size but the best size is 1920x1080, it also gives the good high definition on website for viewer can see more nice visual.
