The author's argument in the article is based on whether video games cause violence or lf video games is harmless. The author discusses on how a young boy shot his little brother because of video game influence on him according to the AP news, on the other hand; the author also mentioned that geek.com believe that the kids were probably used to violence long ago and the parents did not explain them how violence can be destructive.

The author said that this argument have been going on for a long time about Media violence, some studies have proven that there is a strong connection between children aggressive behavior and penchant for violence entertainment. There seems to be a lend an air of scientific validity to the view that games cause violence; However some group of scholars and policymakers wrote a response to the AAP describing how the pediatricians had misinterpreted the data in the studies performed about media violence and which they claim that there is many factual errors in the studies.

The author points out that the AAP relied on outdated statistics and the year it was done however scholars noted that there has been a decrease in youth crime despite the fact that the number of violent games has increased astronomically.

A professor of Media studies said that media effects are the immediate American answer to the problem with violence but criminologists believe that media violence is not a serious contribution to crime because they consider access to weapons, mental health and poverty and how they perpetuate themselves and media consumption ranks very low on their list.

The author also argues that the case of Media violence sets Americans apart from other countries. A video game reviewer said that America has many weapons in plain sight and this is why people would rather blame video games than question gun policies.
