School system had been established for a long time; since then, it had used grades and report cards as a standard of student ability. However, public had started to argue the efficiency of this system, and came up with a new idea that grades and report cards was not necessary, and should focus on attendances. In this society, this idea was not suitable because it would only lead to laziness, and students would not learn as much as they did in the grade book system. Eventually, this would lead to the failure of the society.

In the first hand, if there were no grades and report cards, there were no need for testes and students would not pay attention in class because they did not need to study for the testes. Therefore, students would just simple go to the class, and stayed in the classroom for an hour and thirty minutes and get out of the class for nothing. They would just like a zombie in class. At the end of the semester, everyone was getting an “A” since they attended the class, but it was a waste of time for both the instructor and students. Students were not learning anything and wasting money.

Second, laziness was another important reason. Nowadays, youth liked to look for every possible short cut, and if they knew that they could get good grades without any hard works, they would develop a lazy. As time passed, this laziness might not only affect their school work, but also how they perform in the future. The responsibility of school was to help students to become a better citizen. Moreover, no grades and report cards were too easy for students.

Also, if the school did not have grades and report cards, we were not able to figure out the quality of students. For example, when employees wanted a high quality employer and every applicant had the same grades, the employee was hard to define who actually had the quality that he or she wanted.
