Do you think video games should be allowed at school? There are many reasons why video games should be allowed in school. I think video games should be allowed in school because it assists children in goal setting and many other things. It helps with hand-eye coordination, reading, and even math.
There are still many other reasons why people think video games should be allowed in school. I think one reason is because when there is dialogue in the game most people like to read along. Mark Griffith said, “Video games help with basic reading skills such as reading play, go, stop, and quit help kids with their reading.” This means that reading will be getting easier and easier for kids just starting while playing video games and will increase reading levels.
Research also show a lot more reasons why video games should be allowed in school. I think another reason could be that it helps with math when interacting with score counters on the game. Mark Griffith also said, “Some basic math skills include video game playing promoting basic math skills as children learn to interact with score counters in video games.” This means that while trying to pass a level or round it may show the number of attempts it took to pass the level.
There is also one last reason why video games should be allowed in school. I also think playing video games helps with hand-eye coordination. Mark Griffith said, “Research has consistently shown that playing video games produces reductions in reaction times, improved hand-eye coordination and raises players’ self-esteem.” Meaning while playing video games reaction times will decrease or get faster and self-esteem being raised means that if the player doesn’t feel good about themselves video games can help like if they pass a level that's raising their self-esteem.
